Mint Winter

I haven't posted anything in ages! And by ages, I mean a week. This is mostly due to the fact that I haven't worn anything even remotely worthy of documenting. It has been a freezing and lazy week, my friends. And while I haven't blogged much, I did have a nice little week full of coffee dates with Em, multiple Starbucks trips with Maria, and movie nights with Mike (we went to see This Is 40, what did you guys think of it?). I've also been decorating up my room in fun and nifty little ways, which I'm excited to share later :) And lots of school and work, as per usual.

A few things were made very clear to me through the taking/ editing of these photos:
  • My mother was right and this skirt is definitely too short
  • My mother was right, times two, and flats are not warm enough for this weather
  • My mother must never read my blog and know that I just wrote she was right, twice
  • I am in desperate need of a haircut
  • Tripods are convenient and make everything easier but I still hate them and wish I owned a magical camera
  • There is no fear greater than anticipating someone walking in on you while taking outfit pictures in a public space
  • As a group, fashion bloggers are absolutely insane for taking outfit pictures in the snow. We're insane guys. It may look sunny and bright in these pictures but I can assure you I was absolutely FREEZING my toes off!

I wore this outfit to school, and then quickly decided to trade in my flats for a pair of boots. Em, Mark, Mike and I all went for dinner to the Palace last night, and it was so NOM. Today, Mike leaves for Toronto for the weekend, so I am entering into needy girlfriend mode (haha just kidding kind of). I guess this will just be a great excuse to get some assignments rolling ;) Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

  7. Haha I laughed at the comment about fearing someone walking in on you taking pictures of your outfit. I think this is the #1 reason I could never be a fashion blogger. (Okay, #1 is really I'm terrible at fashion-y things, but it's a close second.) Love the mind-sheer tights pair, it just seems delicate and wintery.

  10. This is a lovely outfit, although I did wonder if you were cold :P That fear of people spotting you while taking photos - that's the worst! I'm still to nervous to take photos outside my bedroom or further than the garden and can't even handle my family being around!
Thanks for the comment on my blog, I really love your blog and style so I'm now following you :)

  13. Lol I know that feeling of admitting your mother was right. I love your outfit and I've seen shorter skirts, if that helps at all lol. :)

  14. I try to avoid situations where I could be discovered taking pictures of myself alone in public. I'd feel so awkward! lol. And I agree....we are a little crazy for taking pictures in the freezing cold. Some days it's hard to muster up the courage to do it! lol.

  16. I love everything about this post. Your outfit is cute! While maybe it's not all that practical for snow, it's super cute in photos. Isn't it just the worst when parents are right? THE WORST.

I though This Is 40 was pretty funny. Admittedly, I fell asleep towards the end, so I don't really know what ended up happening, but I did laugh a lot before that.

Also, I feel you on outfit photos in public places. Goodness I need to get over that one.

  17. You are too cute, girl! And I definitely have to get myself a tripod so I can take pictures on my own. But you're right, a magical picture would be better ;)
